Free format

In a free format program, the text can be spaced out without any restrictions. Spaces are sometimes required in order to mark the end of a keyword or name (and must not be used within keywords and names) but apart from this, spaces can be used at will to provide a convenient layout for the program. Indentation is particularly helpful as a means of providing a visual impression of the various levels within the program.
